Usui and Holy Fire III Reiki

What Is Reiki?

Reiki (ray-key) was developed by Dr Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1900’s.  Holy Fire Reiki is a new form of Reiki that was introduced in January, 2014 by the International Centre for Reiki Training. It is both powerful and gentle and provides purification, healing, empowerment and guidance

Why Reiki?

Energy is all around us.  We live in a world where energy nourishes and maintains all living things. When this energy flows uninterrupted there is  a feeling of balance and harmony within and around us and we experience a sense of well-being. Reiki works on bringing the body, mind and spirit into balance, assisting the body’s natural ability to heal itself physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually

Who can have Reiki?

It is open to anyone and any belief system.  The treatment itself is very gentle, simple and you will remain fully clothed , lying on the massage table.   After an initial consultation, Jackie will gently place her hands “non-intrusively” on or near the body.  The person is treated as a whole rather than any specific symptoms.  It is a great complement to other forms of treatment.

What happens during a Reiki treatment?

Reiki can be used to treat the whole body or can be localised to treat a specific part of the body.    A full treatment normally lasts between 45 to 90 minutes and a localised treatment between 20 and 40 minutes.   Once you are comfortable on the massage table, Jackie may take a few moments to enter a calm relaxed state before the treatment commences.

Clients may or may not feel sensations during a Reiki treatment. You may feel a tingling sensation, a sense of deep relaxation, or warmth or coolness throughout your body.  You may not feel anything, but this doesn’t mean the treatment isn’t working.   You can stop the treatment at any time.

After a Reiki session you may feel thirsty. It can help to drink plenty of water and avoid strong caffeine based drinks, such as coffee for the rest of the day to help the body to flush away the toxins.. You may feel deeply relaxed, and resting at home afterwards can help you get the full benefit of the treatment.   Any tiredness or lack of concentration will soon pass.

Benefits reported by clients/patients include deep relaxation promoting a calm, peaceful sense of well-being on all levels as well as a positive impact on your mood and performance

Please note Reiki practitioners will not offer any diagnosis or prognosis. If you are concerned about your symptoms then please see your GP.
